Muscle Bikes: Main Features

Muscle bikes are characterized by the use of human muscle strength. They are lightweight and more agile than other types of bikes, making them an ideal option for walking on asphalt.

They do not incorporate motors or electrical systems, so their maintenance is easier than other types of bicycles.

As with E-bikes, they are sustainable and environmentally friendly. They are silent and their carbon footprint is non-existent which is perfect for nature lovers.

You will be doing an excellent cardiovascular and resistance exercise by pedalling on a muscle bike becoming a fantastic tool to stay fit and enjoy a perfect route.

How does the eBike Compostela rental work?

We deliver the bike in perfect conditions, with the battery 100% charged and ready to roll. All our bicycles are delivered with the following equipment: tool kit, helmet, rear light, safety lock and saddlebags.

We provide a 24-hour client service telephone for the duration of bike rental. Remember that our phone number is 699 331 965.

You can hire the home rental service. We will take care of sending the bike to your home, to the address from which you will start the Camino de Santiago or another route. It is important that you check the status of the bike when you receive it. If you detect any damage, you must immediately notify us.

We know you are going to take care of the bike like it’s yours. Don’t worry if it suffers any unintended damage during the rental period. In eBike Compostela we will solve it in the shortest time possible.

We have a travel assistance service, with a cost of 30€ per bike. This service includes puncture repair, chain repair and change adjustment. Exclusive on routes within Galicia.

It is necessary to leave a deposit for each reservation which will be returned at the end of the rental agreement.

1Can you rent a bike for a day?
Yes, we are the only ones who rent a single day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
2Do you rent bicycles for the Camino de Santiago?
Yes, we rent bicycles for all the Caminos de Santiago. We send them to all of Spain and Portugal.
3When will I receive the ebike?
We send the ebike with enough time for you to receive it the day before the start of the route. We send it to your hotel or hostel where you stay. We take care of talking with the hotels so that they receive and store the bicycle.
4How do we ship the ebikes?
We send the ebikes with a transport company, packed in a cardboard box. You will only have to turn the handlebars and place the pedals.
5What accessories does the rental include?
Together with the bicycle we send all the necessary material for the route, at no additional cost:
  • Tool Kit: You will receive a backpack with a bowler hat, multi-tools, patches and a camera.
  • Security padlock so that you always have the ebike safe.
  • Battery charger
  • Helmet (optional)
  • Saddlebags (optional)
6Where do I deliver the ebike at the end of my route?
We will pick up the ebike where it suits you best, at your hotel / hostel or at the Santiago's Cathedral. You only have to notify us 40 minutes in advance.

If you finish the Camino in Finisterre, we have a delivery point open 24 hours a day so you can leave your E-bike there. This will have an additional cost of 10€.
7How do I charge the battery?
The battery is removed from the bike and charged at any plug. We will send explanatory videos of how to proceed.
8What happens if the bike breaks?
Our E-bikes are thoroughly checked before leaving our facilities and they are in perfect conditions. It is therefore difficult for them to have problems but not impossible. In case of failure the bike is replaced in the shortest possible time And you will be refunded the value of the transport costs at the beginning or end of the stage on the same day.
9How much time in advance can I cancel the reservation?
The full amount of the reservation is returned as long as you notify us 72 hours in advance for deliveries in Galicia and 5 days in advance for deliveries outside Galicia.
